Project Overview
GetPol, an acronym for "Get Political", was envisioned to bridge the gap between the common public and the intricate world of politics. Initially designed as a conduit for understanding and engaging with politicians, GetPol soon evolved, catering to a broader spectrum of political insights β from detailed ballot information to the latest political news.

Background
In 2020, the U.S. saw its lowest midterm and local election voting rates in recent decades. Less than 40% of Americans went to the ballot for these elections. The U.S. is not new to lower voting rates than other democratic countries. I hypothesize that this is due to simply not knowing your local politicians and policies on the ballot.
We typically see users going straight to social media or Google to find out more information about a candidate.

How does someone come across misinformation?
Challenges & Goals
32% of Americans say that they have encountered false or fake political information online. There is a need to identify misinformation online. Identifying is not enough, being presented with the important and true information is also extremely relevant.

Factors contributing to low voter count in smaller elections.
Project Scope
2 Different groups of users have different needs:
Therefore 2 interfaces were needed to be able to meet both groupsβ needs. In this project, I will be focusing on the constituents.
